About the creator

A woman holding a wicker basket filled with green plants and flowers outdoors during fall.

Josie Moon ethically wildcrafts her herbs and mushrooms from the land where she grew up- the wise old Catskill Mountains. She follows the traditions of the Wise Woman herbal ways, coupled with her intuition & the Moon's many phases and cycles. Astrology came later, but with a force, igniting her heart with more curiosity and expansion. Josie was delighted when she discovered that the two go hand in hand. Plants have planetary rulers and a deep energetic connection to the cosmos and each astrological sign.

All Mighty Moon Medicine tinctures sit for 6-8 weeks or more in her humble apothecary with an abundance of crystals. Absolutely in love with plants, their medicine, and this path of being a green witch, Josie Moon wholeheartedly makes safe, simple medicine full of love and good intention- reminding you that: You are your own Healer.

A bit more to the story...

Born in the woods just outside of Sandpoint, Idaho, Josie Moon's early moments on the planet proved quiet under a first-quarter moon and a sky full of stars. However, the place in which she calls home is in the Catskill Mountains, tucked in a small valley known as Maplecrest.

She spent much of her childhood in the green, mossy forests in search of fairies, or otherwise building them homes while she awaited them to appear. The love for plants, flowers, and the natural world was always there, and was further inspired by her parents, Tom and Tess.

Josie watched her Mama Tess making salves and plant potions growing up, but didn't take an interest in plant medicine until she was an adult. After over ten years of living in major cities such as New York, Paris, and Barcelona, she yearned to be closer to nature more than ever...

It wasn't until after attending the Wise Woman Conferences with Rosemary Gladstar that she began exploring how to make her own medicine. She encountered so many green witches at those gatherings who deeply inspired her,
and helped her to remember her healer within.

Finally, it was the shift that was born out of the pandemic that led Josie to spend more time in the woods. The mushrooms kept calling her to their sometimes hidden locations, and thus she found them! The plants seemed more vibrant than usual. They spoke to her in languages she didn't know she understood. It was then that Josie Moon made a pact to honor them- in studying to understand them deeper, and offer them as healing medicine to the People.
’Tis the People's medicine.

At first, she thought to call herself "Moon Medicine," to honor her birth middle name of Moon, until her soul sister Shari of the purple cottage beneath the apricot trees corrected her.
"No Moon, with everything you have been manifesting so quickly these days, you are Mighty Moon!"

And alas, Mighty Moon Medicine was born.
